Playbook Battle Card: GSPBC-1020 – Persistence – Pre-OS Boot

Playbook Battle Cards are an example of the choreographed routines protecting our customers.

Pre-OS Boot mechanisms are one of the ways cyber aggressors inaugurate persistence on a system.

Cyberattackers can exploit the booting process by overwriting data to persist on systems below the operating system.

At this level, malware is incredibly challenging to identify because host software-based defenses won’t detect it.
